Funny old day

Afternoon all

Been a bit of a funny old day so far today.

Not felt right - rather sad and low.... why why why

I am not sure if its cos it would have been my Dads birthday today
or the worry about Mum who is now alone without a carer (her choice)

Here are some photos of today

 One of Dad taken when my children where small. It was taken at Sissinghurst National Trust
over 35 years ago....happy times.

Where does the time go???

Had to go out this morning to pick the daffodils which were all on the ground today
Bucket load.

Now in a vase - or two....

There that makes things seem brighter

Well I must not dwell on the day - best get on with
making something ... find it is always a good way to get focused
on the positive.

I did some sorting out the other day and came across a ATC

with the words of

IF by Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
    And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Think it sums up my thoughts today.

Well something different today thinking of you all
my Dear Friends and thank you for being you and
I really appreciate you comments, every single one. :)

  2. We all get "blue" days honey. Your colourful and cheerful daffs should make things lighter for you. Stay positive and keep your chin up.

  3. Sending hugs. Sorry that you're struggling today. It must be hard with the date and then worrying about your Mum. Beautiful daffodils, I hope they brought a smile to your face. I have hay fever that starts when the daffs come out and finishes when the leaves fall off the trees. It's improved a little as I've got older but Mum loves daffs and I'm always reminded when I see them that Mum always cut the stamen out of them to get rid of the pollen, or as she calls it, castrating the daffodils! Take care of yourself, Cara x

  4. Sending you big hugs Pen! As Sarn says, we all get days like this - and it certainly seems as if you're surrounded by lots of lovely daffodils right now :)
